Zerowaste tourism network introduced

HỘI AN — The Việt Nam Zero Waste Tourism Network (VZWTN) was launched by Pacific Environment Việt Nam and the Đà Nẵng Tourism Association as a key step towards Vietnam’s Net Zero commitment by 2050. Hội An, a UNESCO world heritage site, has led ‘green’ tourism since 2019. Thirty‑three certified ‘green’ travel businesses from Đà Nẵng, Hội An and Quảng Nam Province will form the network’s inaugural members, aiming to grow to 100 members by 2030. These members will implement waste and emission reduction practices and report regularly as they transition to a fully sustainable model. Backed by IUCN, WWF and GAIA, the network focuses on cutting single‑use plastics. EMIC Travel has launched Hội An’s first low‑carbon tour. New Đà Nẵng—now home to multiple UNESCO sites—expects 12 million visitors in 2025.
